Herbert C. Kershner, age 94 of Richland Center died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the Richland Hospital, Richland Center, WI.  He was born on September 25, 1916 in Richland County the son of Herbert L. and Nellie (Core) Kershner.  He was married to Ethelyn I. Johnson who preceded him in death on September 10, 1995. He was a successful farmer for 62 years in rural Cazenovia.  Herb enjoyed woodworking, carpentry work, hunting, fishing and making music as a fiddle player, with family and friends.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth; sisters, Beryl, Inez and Madaline.

He is survived by his children: Gary (Shari) Kershner of Richland Center,

David Kershner of Big Flats,

Daniel Kershner of Richland Center,

Cheryl (Ed) LaBatt of Richland Center;

and their mother: Charlotte Barreau of Richland Center

10 Grandchildren;

19 Great Grandchildren;

his sister, Nonie Beeman of Richland Center;

a sister-in-law: Lavenia Kershner of Richland Center

numerous nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Herbert C. Kershner will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in the Cazenovia Chapel, Cazenovia with Pastor Craig Peach officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaks Cemetery, Woodland Township, Sauk Co. WI.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the Cazenovia Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to a charity of your choice.  The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
