Joseph P. Corbin, age 97, of Reedsburg, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012, at the Zimmerman Nursing Home.  He was born on January 23, 1915, in Argyle Township, LaFayette County, Wisconsin, the son
of Phillip C. and Laura Delilah (Etheridge) Corbin.  Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army as a Lieutenant during WWII.  He was honorably discharged in 1946 and remained in the Army Reserves until 1965
achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. On August 20, 1942, Joe was united in marriage to Leora M. Nodolf in Platteville, Wisconsin.  This marriage was blessed with two children.  Joe was a graduate of the Platteville
School of Mines which later became UW Platteville and also attended UW Madison for two years.  He was employed with the Department of Natural Resources as a Civil Engineer for 41 years.  Joe was a true conservationist and was a lifetime member of the Association of Conservation Engineers.  He enjoyed gardening in his free time and was a proud supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.  Joseph was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Reedsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip; sisters, Harriet, Medora, Nellie, Sara, Ione, and half-sister, Merle Hendrickson.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Leora of Reedsburg;

Son, Joseph (Kim) Corbin of Reedsburg;

Daughter, Penny (Donald) Harris of Neillsville;

Grandchildren:  Jonathon (Tris) Harris, James (Lynn) Harris,
Joely (Robert) Walter, Joshua (Katie) Corbin, Andrea (John) Muente;

Great grandchildren:  Alex and Michael Harris, Elizabeth and Donavon Harris and Wyatt Walter, Tristan Yellowcloud, Jayda and Nataly Harris, Joshua and Madeline Corbin, Trinity, Syenna and Amiyha Muente;

Many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

We honor Joseph’s life with a service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Reedsburg, with his son, Pastor Joseph G. Corbin officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Reedsburg VFW Post 1916.  Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville, WI at 3:30 PM. 
Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Four Lakes Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
