Daniel H. Peterson

Daniel H. Peterson, age 70, of Reedsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 21, 2024, on his farm.  He was born on November 16, 1953, in Reedsburg, WI, the oldest son of Harley and Mildred (Hemberger) Peterson.  Dan was a 1971 graduate of Webb High School in Reedsburg.  Following graduation, he joined his father in farming the family farm.  He was a lifelong farmer until he was called home.

On June 27, 1981, Dan was united in marriage to Patricia Richert.  This marriage was blessed with two sons. Together with his brother, Matt, he owned and operated Peterson Farms, LLC for the last 35 years with the help of his two sons. During that time, he started and ran a successful custom harvesting business. His favorite time of year was when the chopper came out and he was able to work alongside his harvest crew. Dan had a love for red tractors, St. Bernards, NASCAR and rides in his classic car.  He also looked forward to rides in the Ranger with his grandchildren and dog,
Shelby. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family and friends.  Dan was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harley; infant sister, Sally; brother, Jay; sister-in-law, Linda Freitag.

Dan is survived by his wife, Pat; mother, Millie; sons, Clayton (Jordan) Peterson, Kyle (Devin) Peterson; grandchildren, Jack and Jessa Peterson, and Kynzie and Mason Peterson; siblings, Jean (Pat) Stittleburg, Rebecca (Jim) Krueger, Joseph Peterson, Kelly (Chuck) Nolden, Matthew (Denise) Peterson; sisters-in-law, Pam (Al) Simpson and Angie (Al) Wright; brothers-in-law, Rich (Nancy) Richert and Dave Huntley; along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Peterson will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father John Blewett officiating.  There will be no visitation at the church.

Following the Mass, please join the family in celebrating Dan’s life from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus, 426 South Albert Avenue, Reedsburg.
