Deborah Kay Steinmetz

Deborah (Deb) Kay Steinmetz, age 62, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones at the University Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 15, 1956, in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Geraldine Berndt and Leo Rick. Deb was united in marriage on September 10, 1992. Deb worked for the Sauk County Health Care Center as a CNA until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Deb especially enjoyed going on long drives with her husband in his dream car. They would stop in random towns where she would always run into old friends she hadn’t seen for years, and make new friends on the way.

Deb is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Berndt; father, Leo Rick; sister, Charlotte Rick; and brother DeWayne Rick.

Deb is survived by her loving husband, Russell Steinmetz; children, Kimberly (Jared) Smallwood, Krista (Pat) Strutz, Leslie Smith, all of Reedsburg;

Grandchildren: Kelsey Starling, Lacey Steinmetz, Dawson (Asha) Brandt, Dakota and Dalton Smith, Kiley, Kaden and Kameron Churchill;

Great-grandchildren: Aleah and Justin Starling, Peyton Brandt and Nevaeh Gladden;

Sister, Beverly Schuenke of Reedsburg;

She is further survived by many other relatives and friends including Nicolette Fendler that always called Deb, “Grandma Deb”.

A visitation for Deborah Steinmetz will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg.
