Helen Schulte Obituary

Helen A. Schulte, age 100, of Reedsburg, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Sauk County Health Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 28, 1919 in Sauk County, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Veronica (Dischler) Bindl.  She was married to Russell Fingerhut February 7, 1939, till his death on October 23, 1955.  On July 12, 1969 Helen married Harold Schulte.  Harold preceded her on death February 17, 2003.

Helen loved gardening, especially flowers and berries, sewing, crafting, quilting, fishing, camping, traveling, canning, crocheting, pounding rugs and playing cards.  Helen was very committed to her faith and family.

Her family includes daughters Sandra (John) Jackson of Hillpoint, Alice Ann (Marvin) Meyer of Lime Ridge; son Joe (Joyce) Schulte of Kansas;  daughters-in-law Helen Haas of Madison,  Liz Jones of Madison; son-in-law Mike Lee of Loyd; grandchildren Vikki (Gary) Stingley of Hillpoint and their children Josh, John, Samantha and Elizabeth Stingley, Becky (David) Emery, Kim Siverling, and Martina Carretero Roig; Pam (Scot) Vaver of Eau Claire and their children Walker and Mateo Ramos; Glenda (Jim) Kummerow of Tomahawk and their children Rebecca Ingman (fiancé Scott Risch), Melissa (Chad) Breen and their children Dakota, Hunter, Aleena and Carter, McKenya (Eric) Haring;  Bobbie Jo (Russ) Cabak of LaCrosse and their children Megan (David) Sundall and their children Matthew and Addie; Duane Lee of Loyd and his Children Ryan and Clayton; Kristie (Bill) Troxel of Richland Center; Diane (Nathan) Winger of Cazenovia and their children Jessica (boyfriend Kyle) and Katrina; Kim (Brian) Holloway of Hillpoint and their children Marcus and Emily; Jenny (Jeff) Kozlowski of Rock Springs and their children Mercadeze and Rowdy; sister-in-law Rose Fingerhut; along with  many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; children Mary Kay Lee, Bob Schulte; daughter-in-law Phyllis Fryar; great-grandchildren Bryan Cabak, Sarah Stingley, and Rachel Stingley; brothers Clem (Vera) Bindl, Mike (Helen) Bindl; sisters Martha (Louis) Meise and Leona (Charles Meudt and Earl) Jacobsen; brothers-in-law, Orlean Fingerhut, Wayne Fingerhut, Marvin Fingerhut, Harlan Fingerhut, Awald (Lorna) Schulte; sisters-in-law Bernice (Melvin) Smith, Lucille (Harlan) Foye, Evelyn (Al) Brickl, Laureen Fingerhut, Viola (Linus) Brickl, Margret (RV) Diehl,  Mabel (Paul) Klitzke and Alice Schulte.

Funeral services for Helen Schulte will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto with Deacon Ron Pickar officiating. Burial will be made in St. Luke’s Cemetery in Plain. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
