James Earl Craker, age 55, of Reedsburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 16, 2019. He was born on March 7, 1963, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Marlan and LaVera Craker.
Jim was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Reedsburg and remained a lifelong member. Jim attended Webb High School where he graduated in 1981. He played football and excelled at wrestling, where he competed in Japan and Germany. He continued working on the family farm and sawmill, and was also a skilled mason. Jim loved nature and being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunting enthusiast, and could be found stalking the woods every deer season. Family and friends will sorely miss his caring nature and sense of humor. Jim always made time for family and would lend a hand wherever it was needed.
Jim is survived by his children (Lacey, Nicholas and Tanner Craker); his loving partner, Linda Lange; his parents Marlan and LaVera Craker; his siblings: Sheri Craker (fiance Ross Fuller), Susan Puttkamer (Rodney Deyo), Jerry (Debbie) Craker, Jon (Carey) Craker; also several nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends who all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vinton and Viola Craker & William and Edna Klitzke.
Funeral services for James E. Craker will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Elizabeth Voigt officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
