John Delbert Roeckers

John D. Roeckers, age 73, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 27, 1946 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of John H. and Evelyn B. (Brummel) Roeckers. On December 26, 1966, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Guilfoyle at St. John Catholic Church in Greeley, Kansas. John attended school in Richmond, KS until the school closed. He was a 1964 graduate of Greeley High School. He went to Emporia State University in Kansas and moved to D.C. for six months for training before moving to Wisconsin. He was an accountant for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 35 years. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg, and was a money counter for 30+ years. He loved sports and coached baseball for several years. He was a Dodger, Brewer and Packer fan. He enjoyed playing euchre with a card club.

John was preceded in death by his parents; son Christopher, brothers Donald and Howard, sister Marjorie Oswald, and special friend Vernon Dotson.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children Jerald (Katrina) Roeckers of Holmen, WI, Mark Roeckers of Winona, MN, Pamela (Terrence) Kilian of Sun Prairie, Matthew (Tara) Roeckers of Farmington, MN, and Kimberly (Christopher) Ellefson of Rock Springs; grandchildren Alois and Wesley Roeckers , Andrew, Bailee and Catlin Kilian, Grace, Samuel, Cecilia, Thomas and Augustine Roeckers, and Allysha, Johnathan and Corbin Ellefson; sisters Iona Sobba of Garnett, KS, Sr. Loretta Roeckers of Richmond, KS, and Joan (Dale) Chambers of Overland Park, KS; brother-in-law Donald Oswald of Kansas; along with nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for John Roeckers will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Reverend  David Carrano, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service. A rosary will be prayed at 3:45 P.M.

There will also be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated for John Friday, January 10, 2020 at 10:30 am, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greeley, KS. The Reverend Daniel Stover will the Celebrant. Burial will be made in St. John Cemetery in Greeley, KS.

Memorials of remembrance may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, Reedsburg.
