Lyle Gudenschwager Obituary

Lyle G. Gudenschwager, age 87, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center.  He was born on June 18, 1930, in Hillpoint, Wisconsin, the son of Alfred and Alrine (Giese) Gudenschwager.  Lyle proudly served his country in the US Army.  On September 5, 1951, Lyle was united in marriage to Delorse “Dee” Spurrier in Loganville, Wisconsin.  This marriage was blessed with two daughters.  Lyle was employed with Wisconsin Dairies for 37 years, and he and Dee managed Maple Aire Trailer Park for many years.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycle, watching westerns and bird watching.  During his retirement years, Lyle spent cherished time at their Oxford home with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Wollin of Reedsburg, and Linda Stromberg (James Raupp) of Baraboo;

Grandchildren: Marc (Kristi) Drager, Joe Osborn, Brad (Brenda) Wollin, Erik (Tammy) Knull, and Kelli Wollin; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild;

Brother, Phillip (Ruth Ann) Gudenschwager of Mount Sterling; brother-in-law, Charles Herzing of Cazenovia; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delorse; parents; two grandsons, Hunter Osborn and Marcus Carroll; sister, Carol Herzing; and sister-in-law, Katrina Gudenschwager.

Funeral services for Lyle G. Gudenschwager will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Cole Cemetery.  Visitaiton will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
