Mary A. Schuette

Mary A. Schuette, age 96, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  She was born on November 7, 1921, the daughter of Otto and Dorothy Strampe.  On July 12, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to Emil H. Schuette. Emil and Mary shared 30 years of marriage until he preceded her in death August 19, 1978.  Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg. She was employed at Badger Ammunition and then Hankscraft/Gerber until she retired. Mary had a love of travel and enjoyed many trips to Louisiana and Florida, where she loved combing the beaches to find shells.  Mary took many pictures of her travels and loved to share them with others through slideshows and home movies. She also enjoyed making crafts with seashells, sewing, gardening, and watching birds on her many backyard feeders.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Dorothy Strampe; her husband Emil; and her special friend Everett Gates.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews; many friends including Marge Traeder, Dave and Judy Hon, and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary A. Schuette will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church where the Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 AM. Memorials of remembrance may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
