Patricia Frederickson Obituary

Patricia Elizabeth Frederickson, age 101, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.  She was born on January 30, 1917, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Dennis J. and Katherine (Finnegan) Lenihan.  Pat was one of nine children: Ed, Jim, Dennis, Mary Elaine, Bernard, Tom, Ellen, Dan and Jane, all who have preceded her in death.  She was a graduate of Baraboo High School.

1928 was the beginning of a very happy period in the lives of a brother and sister dance team.  Pat and her brother, Dan, performed on the Ringling stage at least once a month between the two featured movies.  This particular era of “show business” lasted for almost ten years as they danced through grade school and high school.  Their routines included acrobat, tap, ballet, toe dancing and singing.  Pat and Dan never got over the thrill of performing on the Al Ringling stage and the beautiful theaters of Madison.  They always knew as youngsters, that their own Al Ringling Theater was something very “special.”  Their career ended when Pat’s brother, two years her senior, left home to enter the service.

On September 16, 1940, Patricia was united in marriage to James Andrew Frederickson in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Baraboo.  To this union, one daughter, Sue Ann was born.

In 1963, Jim and Pat purchased Reedsburg Floral and worked together for twenty years, building a successful floral business.  Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg where she served on the Council of Catholic Women, the Catholic Daughters and helped with the Fall Festival.  Her faith and love of life kept her healthy and happy for 101 years.  Her legacy lives on in those she touched.

In addition to her siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1999, her daughter, Sue Ann in 2007; and her parents;

She is survived by her granddaughters, Christine (Eric) Swiggum of Mount Horeb, and Kelly Campion of Oakdale, MN;

Great grandchildren, Sydnee and Madeline Swiggum; along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia E. Frederickson will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 until the time of the Mass at the church. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
