Raymond Mundth Obituary

Raymond Allen Mundth, age 83, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home.  He was born on December 25, 1934, in Vernon County, WI the son of Ruel and Leona Rose (Kannenburg) Mundth.  Raymond was united in marriage to Arlene Elizabeth Sass on December 28, 1955 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg.

After retiring from farming Ray became a local truck driver, hauling milk and whey before retiring in 2014.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Reedsburg and part of the Red Arrow 32nd Division of the National Guard for 8 years.  He enjoyed his family and friends, deer hunting and being outdoors.  Ray liked country music and trips to Nashville, especially to the Grand Ole Opry.  He liked watching NASCAR as was a fan of Dale Ernhart.  Raymond was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend; he was a kind, caring, compassionate and dedicated family man.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hubert and Philip Mundth and sister, Ruby Schulze.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlene of Reedsburg; Children, Debra (Michael) Jacobs of Lyndon Station, Sharon (Russ) Reimer of Reedsburg, Dale Mundth of Lyndon Station;Grandchildren, Amy (Shane) Schmidt, Adam (Tamara) Mundth, Tina (Chris) Knipfel, Amanda (Eric) Wilkes, Jason Mundth, Eric (Liz) Reimer and Jessica Jacobs; Great Grandchildren, Gianna, Emma, Harper, Jacob, Corbin, Annabelle and Dom; He is also survived by nieces, nephews, special friends, Bill and Phyllis  Schwartz, and Dan and Phyllis Thieding along with other relatives and friends

Funeral services for Raymond Allen Mundth will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 12 Noon at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating.  Burial with military honors will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Reedsburg following the service.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.  Memorials can be given to St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church or St. Peter’s Lutheran School.
