Sally Thompson Obituary

Sally Mae Thompson, age 60, of Reedsburg, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Sally passed away peacefully at home with two of her sisters at her side, Mary and Trudy.  She was born on August 21, 1958, the daughter of Arthur V. and Gertrude E. (Hanusa) Haefer.  Sally was a 1976 graduate of Webb High School. On August 24, 1974 she was united in marriage to Danny M. Thompson Sr. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. She was part owner and also worked at T-N-T Taxes in Reedsburg as a tax accountant. She also was a Broker at ReMax and Star Realty in New Castle, Indiana.  She loved to travel, enjoyed shopping, and an occasional pull on a slot machine. She liked gardening, flowers, entertaining people and cooking, and also spending time with her grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Michael Thompson Sr. on April 2, 2017; her son, Christopher Thompson on April 5, 1987; her parents, Arthur and Gertrude; brother, Arthur; and her father-in-law, Ralph Thompson.

She is survived by her sisters: Mary Bohen (Keith Albrecht) of Reedsburg, Trudy (Dale) Haney of Baraboo, Patsy DuVall of Merrimac, Sue (Mike) Wobschall of Loganville, Peggy (Mike) Anderson of Reedsburg; grandchildren, Hannah and Benjamin Thompson; step-son, Danny (Misty) Thompson of Reedsburg; mother-in-law, Evelyn Thompson of Reedsburg; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Sally M. Thompson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Beth Voigt officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.

The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family.
