Terry L Wright

Terry Wright, age 61, of rural Wonewoc, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from cancer. Terry was the fifth child born to Walter and Frieda (Tracy) Wright. He grew up on a farm on Highway I in Summit Township. Terry graduated from Wonewoc-Center High School in 1977. He married Rita Edblad in 1979. They were blessed with four children.

Throughout his life, he worked at Merrick Foods, Schluter Construction, Wonewoc-Center Schools, Township of Woodland, and had been a self-employed carpenter, farmer and business owner.

Terry wanted to leave the world a better place for the next generation. He loved planting trees; it was important to him that he give back to the earth. He was proud of his rotational grazing efforts and was constantly trying to improve his pastures. He truly enjoyed the gifts and beauty of nature; enjoying the outdoor activities of hunting, fishing and four-wheeling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Ashli who died in 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita, son Kevin of rural Wonewoc, daughter and son-in-law Staci and Jeremy Dankert of LaValle, and daughter Kelli of Illinois; beloved grandchildren, Gunnar, Aspen and Imogen “Immy”; brothers Delbert and Marianne of Albany, Dennis and Judy of Reedsburg; sisters Audrey and John Gehri of rural Wonewoc, Patsy and Steve Hofmeister of Hillsboro; sisters-in-law, Susan Holden of Arizona and Lois Edblad of California; Godchildren Amara Edblad Kramer of Arizona and Darren Wright of Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

A memorial service for Terry Wright will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc with Pastor Peter Snyder officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
