William Cole Obituary

William L. Cole, age 82, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2019. He was born on February 8, 1937, in Richland County, Wisconsin, the son of Stanley and Dorothy (Brandt) Cole. He grew up on a farm in rural Lime Ridge and enjoyed spending time with his brother and cousins during the summer. Bill was a graduate of Lime Ridge High School before serving his country in the United States Air Force. On April 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Tourdot at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hillpoint. Their marriage was blessed with three children.  Bill hauled bulk and can milk while raising beef and later turned to dairy farming.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Ryan Golden.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Reedsburg

Kurt (Tina) Cole of Reedsburg, Kristie (Otis Naff) Golden-Naff of Anacortes, Washington, and Craig Cole of DeForest;

Grandchildren: Christopher Cole, Brandon (Melody) Cole, Renae Cole, Sarah Golden, Shannon Golden, Erin (Chad) Rockweiler;

Great-grandchildren: Cheyenne Haefer, Elena Cole and Isabella Rockweiler;

Brother: James (Lauri Morris) Cole of Waunakee;

Several nieces, nephews, cousins, along with other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for William Cole will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 10, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hillpoint with Pastor Daniel Lewig and Pastor James Korthels officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinsons.org.)
