Adeline L. Berlin

On March 14, 2022, Adeline Berlin, age 90, entered into eternal life surrounded by her family. She was born on the family farm in Roxbury on August 13 1931, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Ballweg) Pertzborn.

She was artistic all her life and enjoyed sewing beautiful quilts. Adeline was finally able to travel and have adventures with friends who loved and cared for her, Rose Berry and family, Marilyn Hawkins, and Barb Prebie, who she never stopped loving.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph and his wife (Evelyn), Norbert, Edward, Bernie; and brother-in-law Robert.

After years trapped in an abusive marriage, she went on to live a happier more fulfilled life with her nine children, Kathleen (Mark) Wegner, LeRoy (friend Jackie) Berlin, John Berlin, Tom Berlin, Jerry (Darcy) Berlin, Ray (Robin) Berlin, Mark Berlin, Diana (Tim) Trendt, and William Berlin, two step-children Susan and Barbara; her sister Rita Hellenbrand; sisters-in-law Patricia Pertzborn, Audrey Neu; along with other relatives and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life, especially her name sake, Nelia Adeline.

Adeline’s beautiful smile and warmth will live forever in our heart. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Sauk County Health Care Center for the wonderful care and love they gave our mother over her time there.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in LaValle with Father Sanctus Ibe officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials of remembrance may be made to the Sauk County Health Care Center. Burial will follow at a later date.
