Allen C. Broaddus

Allen C. Broaddus, age 51, of Hillpoint, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2022.  He was born on March 31, 1970, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Richard and Marjorie (Zinke) Broaddus.  Al was employed with Seneca Foods in Baraboo, WI as a Maintainer.

On October 31, 2013, Al was united in a perfect marriage to Dorothea M. Finlayson.  Together they found their happy place and second home at Lake Petenwell where they spent their summers with family.  Al was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the relaxation of camping.  He was a capable mechanic, creative fabricator, and could often be found working on what he called ‘junk’ in his shed.  Al loved being ‘Papa’ and adored his grandchildren. He shared his love for the outdoors with them and taught them how to fish and respect wildlife.  Al will always be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need.  He was one of a kind, wild at heart, and lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; and sister, Terri Martin.

Al is survived by his wife, Dorothea; father, Richard; children, Shanda (Ryan) Dolan and their children, Myla and Livia, Jolynn Broaddus, Leah (Seppi) Cabibbo and their children, Stella and Fiorella, Seth Finlayson and his children, Sienna, Isaac and Ian; sisters and brothers, Tammy (Tom) Johanning and their children, Heather (Taylor) Yager, Jenny (Corey) Van Oss, Dustin (Amy) Johanning, and Dylan Johanning, Gary (Carol) Broaddus, Kevin (Lynn) Broaddus, and Sheryl (Jim) Brittich; along with many other relatives and friends.

A visitation and time to honor Allen Broaddus will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg.  A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bullies and Friends Rescue of North Freedom, WI.
