Barbara (Barb) Farrar (nee Shupe), age 83, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Madison. She was born on February 11, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Eli and Marion (Fissler) Shupe.
On January 25, 1964, she married James K. Farrar. She completed a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and worked as a substitute teacher for Reedsburg School District until retirement in 1993.
Barb is survived by her children, James J. (Kristen) Farrar of Davis, California, Donal K. (Karen Hollensed) Farrar of Reedsburg WI, and Katherine A. (John) Kalepp of Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin; grandchildren Allison (Jose), Samuel, Bethany (Preston), Austin, and Drew (Nick); great-grandchildren Emma and Paxton; and sister Mary Jennie Hildebrand and Eli (Toby Ruben) Shupe Jr.
A private family celebration of life will be held at Donnie’s Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Reedsburg Food Pantry.
