Barbara Steinbuck Berghorn Kannenberg 82, of LaValle, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Sauk County Health Care Center after a second stroke. Barbara was born July 15, 1942, in Evanston, Illinois to the late John and Jane (Matthews) Steinbuck. Barbara moved to LaValle, Wisconsin with her second husband Edward. They lived many years in LaValle until his passing in September of 2013. Barbara was a seamstress who enjoyed making many outfits over the years from children’s clothing to a wedding dress. Barbara has also been known to make a doll or two for her granddaughter. Barbara was also an upholsterer. There wasn’t anything that Barbara couldn’t make or repair. She was also a very talented artist. Barbara was also for many years a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses; Kenneth (Shirley) Berghorn of Capron, Illinois, James (April) Berghorn of Wonewoc, WI, stepsons Kim (Peggy) Kannenberg of Baraboo, WI, Matthew Kannenberg of LaValle, WI and John (Wendy) Kannenberg of Rock Springs, WI. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Steinbuck Strub of Wheeling, Illinois, her brother Charles (Billie) Steinbuck of Evanston, Illinois, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will miss her greatly. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Edward Kannenberg, her step-son Rory Kannenberg, her sister Mary Steinbuck Feldkamp and her brothers John and Jerry Steinbuck. Memorial Services for Barbara will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Brother Greg Wheeler will officiate. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
