Betty A. Hinze, age 83, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. She was born on April 15, 1940 in Rock Springs, WI, the daughter of Henry and Leda (Reinfeldt) Haefer. On June 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to LeRoy T. Hinze at St. John Lutheran Church in Rock Springs. This marriage was blessed with four children.
Betty served as coroner for Sauk County, and later as deputy coroner for many years. She also had been an ambulance chief for the Reedsburg Ambulance and ambulance crew. She enjoyed walking, riding moped, and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rock Springs and Ladies Aid.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy on January 11, 2015; her son, Kurt Todd Hinze; three brothers and one sister.
Betty is survived by her children: Randy (Patricia) Hinze, Kristine (Greg) Hahn, and Michelle (Tim) Templin; grandchildren: Matthew (Jamie) Hinze, Trevor Hinze, Tanner (Michelle) Hahn, Damien Hahn, Hunter Templin (Katie), Colton Hahn (Kayla), Haley Templin (Micha), and Jade Hinze; four great-grandchildren; sister, Karen (David) Allen; brother, LaMoine (Elaine) Haefer; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Betty will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rock Springs with Pastor David Karow officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be held at St. John Cemetery in Rock Springs at a later date. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Rock Springs or St. John Cemetery Association in lieu of flowers.
