Brian Gene Wood, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in New Lisbon, Wisconsin.

Brian was a determined man whose passions in life were horses, engines, and the open road. From a young age, Brian shared a love of horses, spending countless hours in his youth training and working with them, often alongside his brother Eric Wood. He was known to be a horse whisperer of sorts, as there was no horse he was unable to train. He liked riding bulls in his early years as well.

Brian was also a gifted mechanic. He had a natural ability to understand how things worked and took pride in fixing what his friends needed help with, building his own motorcycles and customizing them himself. He found joy in bringing motorcycles and mopeds back to life and especially loved the sense of freedom they gave him riding on an open road.

The people who know Brian will remember his determination, commitment to those he loved, the stories that come with the many nicknames he acquired from those who knew him, and a man who didn’t give up easily and poured his heart into his passions. His kids were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about how proud he was of them. In his later years, his grandson, Alex, became the light of his life. He spent his free time passing down his love of engines and cars, earning him the name “Motorcycle Grandpa”.

Brian leaves behind his mother Kathleen Shaker, son Jacob (Olivia) Wood, his daughters Eaven and Florence Sherwood, brother Eric Wood, friend and wife Tammy Wood, and his beloved grandson, Alex.

Brian is preceded in death by his father James Wood, stepfather Kenny Graham, and grandparents Pep and June Shaker and Doris and Buford Wood.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date, to be announced by family.
