Colyn Michael Murphy Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colyn M. Murphy, who left this world unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born on February 1, 1982, in the quaint town of Bigfork, Montana, Colyn was a beacon of warmth and compassion to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Colyn was a man of many talents and boundless generosity. A graduate of Reedsburg Area High School, class of 2000, his journey through life was one marked by a commitment to helping others. Although he held various jobs over the years, his true vocation was his unwavering dedication to those in need. Colyn had an innate ability to connect with people, offering a helping hand or a listening ear whenever it was needed.

A meticulous perfectionist, Colyn approached life with a tireless curiosity and a tool for every task. He was an artistic soul with a mechanical inclination, constantly tinkering and refining until he achieved perfection. His vast collection was not limited to physical objects but extended to friendships, which he cherished deeply. Colyn's life was enriched by his loving family.

He is survived by his adoptive mother, Mary Kane Brenner, his brother, Brian Kane Brenner, adoptive daughter, Sapphyre, along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Katie, his adoptive father, Bruce Brenner, his grandparents John and MJ Murphy, Ken and Marge Brenner, and uncles and aunt Mike Murphy, Ed Kane, Peter Goodrich, and Peggy (Kane) Goodrich. Colyn was also preceded in death by his dear friend, Stacey Shaker.

Colyn's legacy is one of kindness and an adventurous spirit. He was always eager to try new things and offered insightful input to any idea presented to him. He will be remembered as a big-hearted and caring individual, whose life was a testament to the power of love and service.

Colyn's bright spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so freely gave to others.
