DeLon A. Brown, age 83, of Reedsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 6, 1940 in Richland Center, WI, the son of Elgie C. and Fern (Snyder) Brown. On June 6, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marlene M. Dederich. This marriage was blessed with two children.
He graduated from Wisconsin State College and Institute of Technology, Platteville, WI. DeLon was an agricultural statistician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He lived and worked in Palmer, Alaska for 23 years and volunteered 20 years as a Captain with the Palmer Volunteer Fire Department. He also lived and worked in Fairfax, Virginia; Columbus, Ohio; Fargo, North Dakota; Madison and Sabin, WI.
DeLon proudly served his country for eight years with the North Dakota Air National Guard.
He lived in retirement in Mission, Texas; and Richland Center and Reedsburg, WI. DeLon loved Alaska, and enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, firefighting, friends, and gardening in Palmer, Alaska. He was a member of the Elks Club for 28 years, Mat-Su Snowmobile Club, and the Backroad Express Riders of Richland Center, WI. His CB handle was Brandy Man.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; daughter: Mindy Kay Brown of Komatipoort, South Africa; son: Dana Alan Brown of Riverton, Utah; grandchildren: Sidney Lauren (Brown) Henriod of Denton, TX, Makenna Grace Brown of Tampa, FL; siblings: Arvin Brown of Sabin, WI, and Gerel and Judy Brown of Bloomington, IL
He was a loved husband, dad, grandpa, and brother.
