Delores Mittlesteadt Obituary

 

Delores B. Mittlesteadt, age 97, of Reedsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on July 29, 1922 in Winfield Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the daughter of John D. and Lauretta (Cutsforth) Fuller. She was a 1939 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On February 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Russell Mittlesteadt at the Little Brown Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Following their marriage she farmed with Russell, milked cows and assisted him with chores. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Reedsburg and the Ladies Aid, and was involved with the original church construction. She was a member of the Winfield Homemakers, and was a leader for the Jolly Beavers 4-H Club. Russell and Delores were the 1986 Butterfest King and Queen.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell on August 5, 2010; daughter, Linda Mittlesteadt; brothers Lloyd, John, Arthur, Oris, Ted, Ross and Ezra Fuller; and sisters Irene Rasmussen and Leota Wagner.

She is survived by her children: Judy (Marvin) Bloss, Sharon (William) Zimmerman, and James Mittlesteadt (Carolyn) Johnson, all of Reedsburg; eight grandchildren: Tamara (Brian) Kissack, Alan (Theresa) Bloss, Terry (Nikki) Bloss, Amy Goff, Mark (Martha) Zimmerman, Michelle (James) Gee, James D. (Maquel) Mittlesteadt and Fawn (Jeremy) O’Brien; 22 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Agnes Deo of Michigan, and Merna (Marvin) Mittlesteadt of Wonewoc; brother-in-law Arthur Nachtigal of Reedsburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Bill and Phyllis Pierce who enjoyed each other’s company both here in Wisconsin and winters in Arizona; along with many other close friends and neighbors.

Funeral services for Delores Mittlesteadt will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Faith Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Steve Neyhart officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
