Delores A. “Tootie” Harms, age 93, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on January 15, 1930 in Loganville, WI, the daughter of Lorenz and Ruth (Bergman) Luetkens. On June 9, 1950, Delores was united in marriage to Wilbert W. “Bill” Harms at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Loganville. This marriage was blessed with two daughters.
Tootie was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Loganville and active in many church activities that included LWML, Ladies Aide, and the church ice cream social committee. She enjoyed going to the LWML conferences at Green Lake, WI with her sisters and friends from church. She always maintained a vegetable garden for canning large quantities of produce on the farm. She enjoyed fishing and traveling after retiring from the farm including two trips to Germany. Tootie was a sports enthusiast, particularly following the Cubs and the Brewers. This love of baseball came from her years as a “lefty” pitcher for her local softball team.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert W. “Bill” Harms on January 22, 2011; an infant son; her parents; grandson-in-law, Marc Douglas; brother, Norbert Luetkens; sister and brother-in-law, Vera Mae and Orville Hahn; sister, Marlene Koenecke; in-law’s, Arleda and Gilbert Muchow, and Jerome and Rita Harms.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (John) Reuter of Reedsburg and Marie (Kevin) Holman of Texas; grandchildren: Ryan (Miranda) Reuter, Renee Reuter, and Russell (Käthe) Reuter, Sara (David) Nash, and Laura Douglas; great-granddaughters, Masina, Anna, Ellis and Avery; great-grandsons, David Dean, Broxton and Maxwell; sister and brother-in-law, Vernice and Don Schultz; in-law’s: Arend and Marcella Harms, and Marty Koenecke; along with many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Delores Harms will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in St. John’s Cemetery, Westfield Township. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Loganville, in lieu of flowers.
