Diane M. Douglas, age 79, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on August 27, 1945, in the Town of Summit, Juneau County, WI, the daughter of John and Marie (Demaske) Schneider. Diane was a 1964 graduate of Webb High School in Reedsburg.

On October 24, 1964, Diane married Tom Douglas at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Their marriage was blessed with two sons. Diane worked for 35 years as a cook for the Reedsburg School District, where she took pride in serving generations of students and staff.

Despite living with severe rheumatoid arthritis, Diane was determined to stay active, believing movement would help her keep going. She had a pain threshold higher than anyone we knew, yet faced each day with strength and resilience, rarely uttering a complaint.

Diane had a special gift for sending birthday cards to people right on time—never early, never late. She was an avid gardener who took pride in her floral garden and pots surrounding their home. She also canned the many vegetables that she and Tom grew in their garden. Diane always loved following Badger basketball and the Brewers. When she was younger, she enjoyed bowling. She cherished the chronological photo display of her grandchildren she kept on her refrigerator.

She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran in Reedsburg where she served on the Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Schneider and his wife, Bonnie beloved grandmother, Ulreka “Reke” Demaske; and her in-laws, Lee and Helen Douglas, Bob Douglas, Dick and Margaret Douglas, and Eugene (Chub) Douglas.

Diane is survived by her husband, Tom of Reedsburg; her sons, Bryan (Cami) Douglas of Madison, and Brent (Theresa) Douglas of Prairie du Sac; her grandchildren, Mason, Sara, Cole and Addison; sister, Marion (Kenny) Wilson; in-laws Don and Shari Douglas, Bill and Debbie Douglas, several nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Diane will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kris Totzke officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
