Diane Adele (Gates) Janechek, age 81, of LaValle, WI, passed into paradise on June 7, 2025, at the Hospice House in Baraboo, WI. Diane was born on February 27, 1944, in Reedsburg, WI, to Harold and Lucille (Churchill) Gates.

She married the love of her life, Harold R. Janechek, on February 19, 1966. A 1962 graduate of Reedsburg Webb High School, Diane worked for several local businesses and in-home health care before beginning her long career at Tri-County Human Services Center in 1978. When the agency transitioned to Sauk County Human Services in 1988, she continued her dedicated service until retiring in 2005.

Even after retirement, Diane continued to provide in-home care to others while lovingly tending to her husband, Harold. Diane had a generous heart and a gift for caregiving—she was a natural nurse. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats: Sissy, Charlee, Lynn, and Stella. They brought her comfort and companionship, and she found peace in their presence.

Diane is survived by her sons, Michael (AJ) Janechek and Daniel (Penny) Janechek; grandchildren Kristen (Richard) of San Antonio, TX, Taylor and Seth of LaValle; and step-grandson Lucian of Reedsburg. She is also survived by her siblings Linda (Mark) Holly of Iowa and Richard (Jan) Gates of Reedsburg; as well as many relatives, and dear friends who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold (2020), her parents Harold and Lucille Gates, and her sister Jeanette (Gates) Judd.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Hospice House for the loving care they gave Diane, and to the friends and relatives who visited and supported her during her final days.

Funeral services for Diane will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church in Reedsburg. with Rev. Michael Lapp officiating. The service will be livestreamed, please see link below.  Visitation will also be on Thursday, at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45. Burial will follow services at Resting Green Cemetery in Ironton.
