Donald Klang Obituary

Donald A. Klang, age 94, of Cazenovia, WI, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Elroy Health Services. He was born on June 24, 1928 in Richland County, the son of John M. and Mame (Mitchell) Klang. On June 16, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jeanette A. Gasser at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lime Ridge. This marriage was blessed with three children.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Cazenovia American Legion Post 491. Don owned and operated the Cazenovia Feed Mill for many years, retiring in 1974, after selling the business. Don enjoyed the camaraderie of his family and friends on the many trips to Hawk Lodge in Mercer of which he was a founding member. He could fix anything just about anything and was very active outdoors cutting and splitting wood well into his late 80’s. Don was a hunter, a fisherman and an accomplished gardener- growing many berries and vegetables, and growing and grafting many apple trees. Don loved spending time with his grandchildren sharing many hunting and fishing stories. He loved all sports, especially followed the Brewers, and pitched in the minors before he was drafted into the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; son-in-law, Bob Meyer; brothers and sisters: Art, Alma, Agnes, and Paul.

Don is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Vicki (Clark) Thompson; son, Jim (Sharon) Klang; daughter-in-law, Sue (Brian) Wilbrandt; grandchildren, Kristi (Todd) Marsicek, Kerri (John) Delaney, Derek (Jen) Klang, Sarah (Nate) Prankeklang, David Klang (Bailey Miller), Mark Klang (fiancee’ Courtney Sankey); great-grandchildren: Brynley and Braxton Marsicek, Jackson and Tyler Delaney, Collin Klang, Nadezjda and Radhika Prankeklang; cousin, Annie Helt; many nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
