Donald P. Ripley

Donald P. “Bud” Ripley, age 92, of Hillpoint, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born on May 11, 1928 in Richland County, WI, the son of Theron and Grace (Hess) Ripley. Donald was united in marriage to Gloria T. Meyer on April 9, 1947 in Leland.  She preceded him in death on December 3, 2007. Donald was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed fishing and dancing, and was a member of the Wisconsin Country Music Association. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis, great-grandson Jacob Craker and three sisters.

Donald is survived by his very special friend: Lorraine Cortleyou; children: Vicki Mittlesteadt of Baraboo, Shari Ripley of Hillpoint, Donnie Ripley Jr. (Kelly Rodenschmit) of Baraboo, Darrell (Janice) Ripley of Cazenovia, Dawn (Robert) Ammann of Florida, and Roxanne (David) Fredrickson of Loganville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Ripley of Hillpoint; grandchildren, Shelley (Delvin) Craker, Renee (Tyler) Potter, Ricarda (Tom) Adams, Travis Mittlesteadt, Melissa (Andrew) Shimniok, Roman (Breanna) Rodenschmit, Daniel (Amanda) Ripley, John (Christine) Ripley, and Joe Ripley, 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donald Ripley will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2020, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Joseph Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in the Loyd Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
