Duane R. Klang

Duane R. Klang, age 74, of Cazenovia, WI, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Richland Center Hospital after a 14 year battle with dementia. He was born on March 6, 1949, in Richland Center, the son of Herbert T. and Alvina M. (Jasper) Klang. On June 5, 1971 he was united in marriage to Sonya M. Johnson at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Germantown and was a lifelong member of the church.

Duane was a 1967 graduate of Weston High School, and graduated from UW Platteville with a BS in building construction. He was a lifelong farmer with a passion for woodworking. He was honored to teach woodworking for several years to children in Willing Workers 4-H and St. Anthony’s School.

Duane was a former member of the Cazenovia Jaycees, Cazenovia 4-Wheeler Club, served on the Parks Committee for Richland County, and was a board member of the USDA/FSA of Richland County for several years.

Duane is survived by his wife, Sonya; children, Lisa Klang, and Eric (Heather) Klang; grandchildren, Dylan and Hannah; sisters and brother, Linda Klang, Ronald (Jean) Klang, and Loujean (Tim) Lindloff; nieces, nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Terry (Penny) Johnson; along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and twin sons, Douglas and Jeffrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Germantown, with Father Nathan Thainase officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, July 17 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Cazenovia Chapel, and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Anthony’s Inspired by the Spirit Campaign, or the Cazenovia Area Fire and Rescue.
