Edward B. Strampe, age 80, of LaValle, passed away from vascular dementia, peacefully, with his wife by his side on Monday, May 6, 2019. Ed was born on June 15, 1938, at home in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Walter E. and Della L. (Judd) Strampe. On April 24, 1993, he was united in marriage to Suzanne V. Damask at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg. He was a Grede Foundry employee for 45 years. Ed was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Ed lived for opening day of trout season, and was an avid bow and gun hunter; he enjoyed elk hunting trips to Montana.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, Ivan, Donald and Delos; and nephews Chad Schultz and Donald Strampe.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne;
Children: Edward J. “Buddy” Strampe of LaValle, Pamela (Gary) Reimer of Loganville, and Linda Strampe (Mark Gilkeson) of Wisconsin Dells;
14 Grandchildren;
19 Great-Grandchildren;
Sister, Gloria (Carl) Schultz of Baraboo;
Sisters-in-law, Lois Strampe of Tomahawk and Janice Strampe of Janesville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Edward B. Strampe will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 10, 2019, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Reedsburg, WI.
