Eugene L. "Mouse" Greenwood, age 78, of LaValle, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on January 5, 1946, in Reedsburg, the son of Virgil L. and Josephine J. (Wagner) Greenwood.
Eugene was a 1964 graduate Webb High School in Reedsburg. He proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard for six years. He was employed by Ray Zobel and Sons for 44 years in many roles but especially enjoyed driving dump truck and spreading lime. Eugene was an avid big game hunter and fisherman - he was especially fond of his moose hunting and fishing trips to Canada. He was a great storyteller, "by golly empers" was a common expression in all his conversations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Josephine; and his brother-in-law, Jon Peterson.
Gene is survived his brothers and sisters, Richard (Sue) Greenwood, Jack Greenwood, Sharon Peterson, Merry Jo Greenwood (Rick Vollbrecht), all of Reedsburg, and Eileen (Calvin) Harrison of Virginia; many nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Eugene "Mouse" Greenwood will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Farber Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Private family burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg.
