Eunice Sopher, age 90, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Complete Care at Jefferson Meadows (St. Clare Care and Rehab).

Eunice was born on February 18, 1935, in Honey Creek Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin.

She was the daughter of Arthur and Cecilia (Eckstein) Leidig. Eunice grew up on the Leidig family farm and attended Sauk High School. Eunice was united in marriage to Arnold Schneider in June 1953. They had two children, Victor and Clara. Later Eunice married Gilbert Sopher.

Eunice worked for several years at Badger Army Ammunition Plant. She later ran a cleaning service and was an in-home health caretaker. She enjoyed tending to her floral gardens, traveling, fishing, cooking and baking.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Cecilia Leidig; former spouses, Arnold Schneider and Gilbert Sopher;  brother, Robert Leidig, sisters, Audrey Markee and Lois Emhoff and daughter-in-law Tonya Schneider.

Eunice is survived by her son, Victor Schneider; and daughter Clara Hassanein; grandchildren: James (Amanda) Schneider, Roy (Corisa) Schneider, Maria (Adam) Yanke, Sharif Hassanein, Zak Hassanein and Adam Hassanein; great grandchildren: Khloee, Kaylee, Sarah, Cora, Ruby, Laura, William and Jacob; step-great grandchildren: Keegan, Kailey and Kayden; sister, Mary Ann Hartman; and many nieces and nephews.

Monday, December 22, 2025, services for Eunice include visitation at 10:00 am and mass at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 2nd St., Baraboo, WI 53913. Father Piotr Janas officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, 400 North Maple Street, North Freedom. Luncheon will be immediately following the burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Baraboo, WI.

Flowers may be delivered or brought to the church between 9:30 am and 10:00 am.
