Evalyn Bindl Obituary

On July 26th, 2022, Evalyn (Evie) Christine (Meixelsperger) Bindl, age 89, passed away with family by her side following a diagnosis of colon cancer and congestive heart failure.  She was born on May 23, 1933 to Clem and Clara (Ruhland) Meixelsperger.  She was raised in Plain, Wisconsin with her 7 siblings and grew in faith while attending St. Luke’s Catholic School.

Through a love of dance, she met the love of her life Ralph Bindl.  They wed June 1st, 1954 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain.  Their marriage was blessed with 5 children; Jane (Jerry) Dorow, Jean Bindl, Gary (Diane) Bindl, Lois Bindl (deceased), and Ron (Jane) Bindl.  Their lives flourished while working on their farm and building a family business.

Evalyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending their school and sporting activities. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren:  Mandi, Tim, Travis, Jodi, Andrew, Michael and Jennie, 13 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great granddaughters. The smile she wore every moment they entered the room will stay in their hearts forever.

Evie had a strong faith and felt blessed when surrounded by her family and friends. All knew that her flower gardens were a focal point in her life. She shared her talent of decorating with her church and loved to keep her home beautiful and welcoming to others.

Throughout her life you could find her playing cards with family or friends, going to polka dances, watching the Mollie B Polka Hour, in her kitchen baking and cooking, or in her flower gardens.

She is survived by 4 living children and their spouses, brother Ken (Heidi) Meixelsperger and sister-in-law Eileen Van Acker.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband Ralph (2019), daughter Lois (1975), sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Cletus Alt; brothers, Chris, Harold, Delbert and Duane, brother and sister-in-law Edwin and Helen Meixelsperger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Millie Brey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Evalyn on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (624 North Willow St., in Reedsburg).
