Gail J. Mieden, age 69, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Gail was born on November 8, 1956, in Sparta, WI, to James Miller and Faye (Karis).

She met the love of her life, Roger Mieden, at a horse show, where they immediately hit it off and spent the evening together. Their chance meeting blossomed into a lifelong love story. Gail and Roger were united in marriage on December 4, 1976, in La Crosse, WI, and shared 49 wonderful years together.

Gail’s family was the center of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her always being there for her family, Gail dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse for many years before retiring and continued her passion for helping people through her work with BrightStar Care. Gail was known for her compassionate heart, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.

When she was not spending time working or with family, Gail enjoyed bowling, attending horse shows, spending time with friends, and time with her grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover and was especially known for treating her beloved pets like family, making sure they received Christmas gifts every year during the holidays. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting. Gail’s kind and selfless nature touched all who knew her. Whether she was caring for a patient, helping a neighbor, supporting a friend, or spending time with her family, she did so with a loving heart.

Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she cared for while working in nursing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Bonnie Malzacher.

Gail is survived by her loving husband, Roger Mieden; her children, Andy (Jodi) Mieden, Kelly (Aaron) Hillyer, and Danny (Tonya) Mieden; seven grandchildren; her sisters, Beverly Miller, Linda Smircina, Phyllis Rask, and Peggy Hooverson; her brother, Bill Miller; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Gail will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kris Totzke officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Friday at the church from 10:30 AM until 11:15 AM. The Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard tribute will be held at 11:20 AM.
