Gerald F. “Jerry” Hooks, age 83, of Cazenovia, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on November 9, 1940, in Bloom City, Richland County, Wisconsin, the son of Frederick and Delores (Brown) Hooks.

Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Weston High School. He was a 44 year employee of Grede Foundries Inc. in Reedsburg, retiring as a leadman or supervisor’s assistant in the knock-off department.

On September 6, 2003, Jerry was united in marriage to Katherine D. Foss. Jerry operated his own woodworking hobby shop from his Cazenovia home. Together with Kathy they created many crafts, furniture and knick-knacks. Jerry was a collector of model scale farm tractors and machinery that totaled over 350 pieces. He was a former member of a Cazenovia area snowmobile club. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings and children for his prankster shenanigans and his ability to keep them on their toes. Jerry enjoyed truck and tractor pulls and took great pride in his sports cars and trucks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janice Morris.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters, Pam (Michael) Procter, Rita (Dewey) Tracy, step-sons, Jim (Lin) Elliott, Rich ‘Bondo’ (Cindy) DeVault, grandchildren: Becky (Howie) Althiser, Jerry (Amber) Horkan, Allie (Andy) Mienerz, Emily (Reed) Willadsen, 6 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, sister, Bev (Dan) Duerst, brothers, Gary (Marge) Hooks and Larry (Rene) Hooks, several nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Jerry Hooks will be held from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Cazenovia Chapel, Cazenovia. The service will begin at 6:00 PM with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating. Food and continued celebration of Jerry’s life will follow the service at the Hook’s residence. Private family burial will take place in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery Germantown, at a later date.
