Gordon Henry Smith from Kenosha and formerly from the Lime Ridge area passed away from a heart attack July 8, 2024 at the Kenosha Froedtert Hospital. He was born at the farm home near Lime Ridge to Reuben and Violet (Brice) Smith on May 6, 1955. He graduated from Weston High School, and soon after graduation moved to Kenosha where he lived for the rest of his life. He worked there at American Motors/Chrysler until his retirement, and later worked for a time at Amazon. He attended Gateway Technical College where he received a degree in Robotics and Mechanical Design. He had a passion for robots, building them for himself and enjoying the company of other robot enthusiast’s he met at conventions he attended all over the country. He enjoyed gardening and music, having played in a small band with some friends for a time. Gordon is survived by one sister, Dale Emery, Reedsburg, and four brothers: Roger (Patricia), Boscobel, Ronald (Susan), LaValle, Melvin (Sandra), Lime Ridge, Harley (Roberta Condon), Portage, one brother-in law, Edgar Stahlschmidt, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Stahlschmidt, Texas and a brother-in -law Gordon Emery. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with burial in the Lime Ridge Cemetery.
