Helen Joan Haan, age 77, of Ironton Township, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home with her daughter by her side.

She was born on April 16, 1948, in Grundy County, IA, the daughter of Henry and Lillian (Adelmund) Dingel. Helen grew up and went to high school in Dike, Iowa, graduating in 1967. On January 10, 1975, Helen was united in marriage to Dennis Lee Haan at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  This marriage was blessed with two children.

In 1980, Helen and Dennis moved to a farm in rural Cazenovia. It was there that she enjoyed horseback riding and raising colts. They later moved to a farm in rural Baraboo and in 2010, moved to Ironton Township where they farmed until it became too difficult for Dennis to keep up with daily chores. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2019.

Helen was a talented artist; drawing was her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles, and listening to Johnny Cash songs.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis John on May 10, 2020, and her parents.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Alison Haan and fiancé, Anthony Farrington; grandchildren: Chayton, Hunter and Veronica Farrington; brother, Henry K. Dingel of Grundy Center, IA; sister, Linda Rewerts of IA; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Helen J. Haan will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Farber Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Amberg officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
