James Brown Obituary

 

James W. Brown, age 66, of Reedsburg, WI passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. He was born on March 3, 1954 in Crosby, North Dakota, the son of William C. and Olivia F. (Elsbernd) Brown. On June 6, 1981 he was united in marriage to Patricia K. Braun at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Germantown. This marriage was blessed with two children. He served his country in the National Guard from 1974 to 1981. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and playing cards. He also loved dogs, and listening to music. Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on January 10, 2017, and his mother Olivia Brown.

Jim is survived by his children, Jacob W. Brown of Lyndon Station, and Sarah E. (James) Cooper of Reedsburg; grandchildren Jayla and Jaxtyn Brown, and Graham and Cole Cooper; step-grandchildren Jocelyn and Christian Cooper; his father William Brown of Reedsburg; sisters and brother, Laura M. (Jerry) Kast of Hillpoint, Lynn (Monte) Mattei of Wisconsin Dells, Margaret A. (Shane) McCluskey of Lime Ridge, Sandy (Edward) McGowan of Jacksonville, Florida, and Charles (Jennifer) Brown of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

A private family service for Jim will be held at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery in Ironton. In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to the ALS Foundation.
