James Kenneth Scoon, age 89, of Reedsburg, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at his home. He was born on August 26, 1936, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Kernan) Scoon.
Jim was a 1954 graduate of Reedsburg High School in Reedsburg. He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1954 to 1962 where he was a tank driver. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for Reed’s Gas Company in Reedsburg. Jim was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish in Reedsburg. His faith was a very important part of his daily life as he attended daily Mass and enjoyed visiting neighboring parish services.
Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. He had a seasonal campsite in the Tuck Away Campground and loved to travel to various camping destinations.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his sister, Monica Caffarella of Henderson, Nevada and her daughter Christy; cousin, Leone Nachreiner and her daughters Sheila, Lynn and Kay; along with other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial for James Scoon will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lyndon Station. Father Cryton Outschoorn will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be conducted at 3:30 pm in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church.
