James A. Stowers, age 62, of Reedsburg, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was born on September 1, 1961, in Beloit, WI, the son of Roy Stowers and Gloria (Wagner) Even. On June 21, 1985, Jim was united in marriage to Sheila Mortimer. This marriage was blessed with three children.
Jim was a jack of all trades; he was a good carpenter and was equally mechanically inclined. Not only could he fix just about anything, he was always willing to help his family and friends whenever needed. He enjoyed camping, playing cards-especially winning, gardening and feeding the squirrels and hummingbirds. Jim was funny with a quick wit and never missed a chance to rib Sheila and make her smile.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; children, Joshua Stowers, Tyler (Brittany) Stowers, and Shelbi Stowers; grandchildren, Caden, Kennedy and Braxton Stowers; sisters, Bonnie (Del) Stokes, Becky Stowers and Dione Even; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff, Todd, Jimmy and Chad Mortimer and Staci Mortimer; along with nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Roy Stowers, Gloria (Robert) Even; brother, Daniel Stowers and step-brother, Jeff Even.
A memorial service for James Stowers will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating.
