Jane Lyn Neumann Obituary

Jane Lyn (Humbert) Neumann, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 3, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born to Harold (Jerry) and Mary Vial (Humbert) and raised in Blue River and Loganville, Wisconsin. She graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1968.

Jane enjoyed playing sports in her youth, especially softball and bowling.   She was proud to have won first place in the Women’s City Bowling Tournament in Reedsburg. Later in life Jane loved reading, bird-watching, growing beautiful flowers, playing euchre with family and friends, and fishing, finding peace and joy by the water.

Jane’s greatest joy in life was her family and she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She had an unmatched talent in the kitchen. She was renowned for making Grandma Neumann’s homemade bread, and her love for cooking and baking was a gift she shared generously with everyone around her. Her family and friends will forever remember her delicious meals and sweet treats, which were always made with love.

Jane had a deep commitment to her community. She served as a dedicated member of the Hillpoint fire department for over 20 years, always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. Her hard work and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone around her.  For several years, Jane was a proud employee at Lands' End, where she made many lifelong friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Humbert, Mary (Vial) Humbert, and brother-in-law Dan Schyvinck.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Donald Neumann; her three children, Julie (Russ) Rupert, Randy (Kyra) Neumann, Annie (Hugh) Sugar; seven grandchildren Hunter, Brin, Dean, Nicholas, Helena, Isla Jane, and Greta; three special sisters Jill (Joe) Machovec, twin sister Judy (Dennis) Neumann, and Jara Schyvinck, with whom she shared countless memories and moments of joy, along with many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jane will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Jane's family is grateful for the love and support they’ve received during this difficult time.

A funeral service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hillpoint with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating.  Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
