Jean Marie Juisto Obituary

Jean Marie Juisto, age 63 of Baraboo, WI entered our heavenly Father’s kingdom in the early hours of Sunday, November 30, 2025.   She took her last breath at home, in bed next to her loving husband of 45+ years, Scott.  She was born on February 5, 1962, in Madison, WI.  Jean attended Lafollette High School until she met the man of her dreams, future husband and love of her life.   They married March 15, 1980 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Madison, WI.  God knew what he was doing when he joined these two souls.   They celebrated 45 years of marriage, raising four daughters and are proud to have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She knew and trusted God’s plan and is now pain-free, warm and happy and in a place of nothing but love.  Both Jean and Scott are known and respected for spending their life opening their hearts and home to anyone and are now blessed to care for three grandchildren.

Jean enjoyed many hobbies in her life, including bowling, cross stitching, crocheting, and gardening.  She loved the outdoors, including hiking, laying in the sun, canoeing, and floating in her pool. Jean loved country music and going to concerts.  She loved to travel.  But she was always happiest when she had her family around her. Her most recent gift was painting rocks.  Jean began this after battling cancer the first time, finding therapy in it.   Her love and her talent kept growing.  She created “Family Rocks WI” on Facebook and each day was thrilled to see how many hearts she touched and faraway places her rocks travelled.

Jean is survived by her husband Scott Juisto; daughters, Toni Marie (DJ), Tami Jean, Tracy Ann (James) and Trisha Jo: grandchildren, Trevor, Anthony, Colby, Jeremy, Brielle, Naysa, Kendall, Cameron, Silas, Anna, Joseph, William, Skyla, and Addison; and great grandson Jakai.  She also leaves behind two sisters: Mary Dosch (John) and Michelle Mootz-Carroll (Jeff).   Jean had many cousins, old and new friends and other families she held close to her heart, especially her Aunt Joan Barrick who was her mother’s twin, Kelly Mooney, and Linda Studee.  She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Mootz, father-in-law, Tony Juisto, and mother-in-law Elizabeth Juisto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo, WI.   Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time of service with burial and luncheon to follow.  There will be rocks and paint for those who would like to create one for the family so please bring your creativity and stories to share.  A special thanks to St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus.  Their generosity and love for others allows the family to give Jean the tribute she deserves.   In lieu of flowers, a funeral fund has been set up, and contributions can be made to Brian Pillsbury or Scott Juisto.

Anybody that knew her would forever cherish the love Jean had not only for family and friends but for her love of life.  She was blessed to take care of her own dying mother but only to be followed by fighting for her own life again.  Her bravery and strength came from her faith in God’s work.  Near and far people will miss the love and goodness that radiated from her.  Her smile, her laugh, and her natural beauty will forever live in the hearts of others.    She will never be forgotten.
