Joan Hackbarth, age 72, of Marshall, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Ft. Atkinson Hospital. She was born on January 5, 1953, in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Elmer and Goldie (Pauck) Hackbarth. Following high school Joan moved to Placentia, CA where she was employed as a medical records clerk at UCLA Hospital for over 15 years. She later moved back to Wisconsin where she made her home in Marshall. Joan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Marshall.
Joan was a gifted crafter. She made jewelry and worked on many latch hook projects. She was a cat lover and enjoyed their company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elmer Hackbarth and sister, Susanne in infancy.
Joan is survived by her sister, Carol Krueger; brothers, Eugene and Dale Hackbarth; along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family of Joan would like to thank the ICU staff at Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, the staff at Alden Estates Nursing Home in Jefferson, the EMT’s and those who helped her in the last several years.
Graveside services for Joan Hackbarth will be held in St. John Cemetery, Rock Springs, at a later date.
