Joan Elizabeth Rabuck

Joan E. Rabuck, age 89, of Reedsburg, formerly of LaValle, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on January 20, 1934 in the Township of Ironton to Oliver and Leone (Hinrichs) Austin.  Joan was married to Ray Rabuck in December 1950. Joan and Ray “Gabby” owned and operated Gabby and Joan’s Bar in LaValle from July 1961 to June 1987. Ray and Joan had many trips RV’ing to Brewer and Packer games, Florida, and many other places. Joan loved playing poker with the neighbors and friends. Her cooking was enjoyed by all, and was famous for her “secret recipe” for her batter on the fish, onion rings and chicken. Joan enjoyed cross stitching and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rabuck on July 30 1993; her parents; and her brother, Lawrence O. Austin.

Joan is survived by her sons, Richard (Janeen) Rabuck of LaValle, Ronald (Jeannie) Rabuck of LaValle, and Randy (Kelly) Rabuck of Reedsburg; grandchildren, Ryan Rabuck, Daniel Turner, Sophie Rabuck, Gabrielle Rabuck, Morgan (Thomas) Herritz, Wyatt (Darianne) Sobojinski,  Cody Rabuck; great-grandchildren, Oaklynn Herritz and Kazleigh Turner;  nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 p.m. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaValle at a later date.
