John Joseph Solchenberger, 69, of Cazenovia, passed away on Saturday January 24, 2026, peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side.

John was born May 27, 1956 to Bernard and Odelia (Louis) Solchenberger. John was a lifetime farmer and continued to grow both his dairy herd and acreage throughout his years of farming.

On August 20, 1988 he married Margo Meyer. The following year they welcomed a son, followed by two daughters.

Years later when John retired from the farm he found joy in road trips with his wife, complete with ice cream. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. John also enjoyed gator rides around the farm, sitting on the porch watching the tractors in the fields, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Margo; son Bradley (Sarah) (Baylee, Bristol, Finnley, Watson) Solchenberger of Cazenovia; daughters Lindsey (Nik) (Jace, Kya) Hanko of Eau Claire, Heidi (Danny) (Grayson, Elsie, Sophia) Huber of Cazenovia; mother Odelia Solchenberger; mother-in-law Connie Meyer; four brothers Christopher (Ann), Paul, Louis, Gerard Solchenberger; five sisters Joan (Norm) Klingaman, Bernadette Solchenberger, Mary (Dennis) Carroll, Theresa (Mark) Bass, and Rose (Ben) Spencer; brothers-in-law Joe Jr. (Wendy) Meyer and Jon (Laurie) Meyer; special friend and farm hand Carson McCauley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Bernard, and father-in-law Joe Meyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cazenovia.  Rev. Bernard Rott will be the Celebrant.  Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, January 29, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and at the church, on Friday from 10:00 am until 10:45.  Burial will follow Mass in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
