Johnnie L. Wegner, age 93, of LaValle, WI, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in LaValle Township, Sauk County, WI, the home he was born and raised in and eventually raised his own family in.  He was born on January 13, 1931, the son of Leo and Wilma (St. Clair) Wegner. 

Johnnie was a 1949 graduate of Reedsburg High School.  Following graduation, he traded in his ’49 Chevy and bought a ’44 Massey Harris-a tractor he still owns today.  This began his love of tractors and farming the land that has been in his family for years.  Johnnie remained as active as he could in his later years working in the shop.  He painted tractor parts and enjoyed building fence clips, and taking occasional naps in his favorite chair.

He was united in marriage to Anna Tourdot on August 7, 1954, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg.  A beautiful marriage that was blessed with seven children.  Anna preceded him in death on March 19, 2013.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Jr., his parents, and siblings: Ruth Dargel, Helen Nobs and Lorraine Powell.

Johnnie is survived by his children:  Mark (Kathy) Wegner, Ray (Janet) Wegner, Kathy (Dale) Picard, Patty (Matthew) Dawson, Janice (Tom) Schlough, Paul Wegner, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace “Junior” Bradley, Evelyn (Ed) Bulin, Robert (Donna) Tourdot, Mary Lou Tourdot, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Johnnie L. Wegner will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaValle.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home and on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 9:45 am.

Memorials may be made to children and adults with special needs in lieu of flowers.
