After serving in the Military, he worked several years for Montgomery Ward. He then became self-employed and opened Reedsburg TV and Lighting, which operated for over 30 years. He was well known for his knack in repair along with his determination to make an old TV or appliance operable again. While living with Multiple Sclerosis for most of his life, he was always active and engaged in many projects. During his 60’s and 70’s he took part in a number of Reedsburg Butter Fest Marathons and participated in Vet Fest. Participating in the marathons allowed him to connect with his community and inspire others to do the same regardless of age.
As a member of the Bible Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon along with various roles in the Awana Club & sound department. He had a passion for Chevy cars and favored the 1955 Chevy Belair. The Oldies Station could be heard throughout his home, day in and day out, but he especially liked to ad lib his rendition of the 1949 commercial jingle, “See the USA in Your [Big Blue] Chevrolet!” Above all these things, his greatest devotion was to his family and to his faith in God. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and neighbors.
