Joyce D. Oleson

Joyce D. Oleson, age 82, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Sheboygan Senior Community Center. She was born on April 5, 1939, in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Ervin H. and Dorothy E. (Rathman) Oleson. Joyce attended Haycreek Country School and was a graduate of Webb High School and Sauk County Normal School. She taught in the Kelly School in Winfield Township. 

In 1959, Joyce was married to Laverne Robson. Together with their growing family they were stationed in several areas of the country while Laverne was in the US Air Force. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Joyce attended Lakeshore Technical College. She was employed as a Nursing Assistant for several years. Joyce enjoyed singing, writing and painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Johnnie Oleson; mother and father-in-law, LuLu and Arthur Robson; sons-in-law, Jim Schmid and David McKnight; and brother-in-law, Bob Haussen.

Joyce is survived by her children, Jodeen Schmid, Letha (Keith) Rudie, Cheryl McKnight, and David (Lisa) Robson; grandchildren, Michael (Helen), Lydia (Clayton), Nicole (Nick), Sarah, Jacob (Courtney), Luke (Jen), Jack and Sonja; great-grandchildren,  Clara, Mason, Bryson and Felicity; sisters, Beverly Haussen and Stella (Ken) Seamans; sister-in-law, Janet Oleson; former spouse, Laverne Robson; aunt, Arvella Bambrough; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Joyce will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Jon Grice officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.
