Obituary for Julian James Ruyle November 28, 2002 - December 10, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julian James Ruyle. Julian left this world too soon on December 10, 2024, in a tragic accident. Despite his brief time with us, he touched countless lives with his goofy humor, kind heart, and boundless energy.
Born on November 28, 2002, in La Crosse, WI, Julian brought light and joy to everyone around him. He was the beloved son of Emily and William Kirch and a protective, loving brother to Willow. Julian’s grandparents, Mary Taylor, Kim Ruyle, and Sharon and Walter Kirch, adored him. He also shared a special bond with Eva Burgess, his loving and devoted caretaker.
Julian was a free spirit with a passion for life’s simple joys. His passions were as big as his personality. Julian dreamed of working in an antique shop or becoming a DJ (or possibly both at the same time). He loved dancing, drawing, rapping to his favorite artist Eminem, and making people laugh. Whether it was scaring someone with his mischievous antics or breaking into a dance, he had an unforgettable ability to bring a smile to everyone’s face. One cherished memory was his playful attempt to catch the floating woodsprites watching Avatar at the movies.
Julian had a mischievous side that made him unforgettable. A true movie buff, Julian especially loved horror films and loved to pull his own pranks or scares. He once scared a nurse so badly that the entire hospital was talking about it. He loved sneaking up on people or pretending to be asleep just to spook them.
Julian’s faith in God was pure and childlike, often attending church on his own. He found joy in helping others, whether at camp, with friends, or with strangers. He had a big heart, always spending what little he had to bring happiness to those around him. He once bought candy for a man who had everything stolen, a testament to his selflessness and compassion.
Julian’s innocence and warmth were matched by his loyalty and protectiveness. He stood up for those being bullied, embodying courage and kindness. To his family and friends, he was Jules—a sweet, goofy, and loving soul who made every moment memorable.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. at Farber Funeral Home, 2000 Viking Dr., Reedsburg, WI 53959. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Julian’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Julian’s Joyful Spirit Fund, a GoFundMe helping to support the cost of the funeral.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Jules would want us not to be sad but to be happy and to just be kind to everyone. He often said he was never afraid of dying because he knew he would go to heaven.
He is survived by his parents, Emily and William Kirch; his sister, Willow; his grandparents, Mary Taylor, Kim Ruyle, Sharon and Walter Kirch; his caretaker, Eva Burgess; a slew of cousins, aunts and uncles, and two very good dogs, Elsa and Brandi, who he loved dearly.
Though his time with us was far too short, Julian James Ruyle left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. He’s undoubtedly now scaring angels and cracking jokes in heaven.
