June Rose Peters Obituary

June “Poopsie” Rose Peters, age 78, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Sauk Prairie Healthcare surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 27, 1947, in Waukesha, WI, the daughter of Lloyd and June (Hanke) Stark. On February 27, 1965, June was united in marriage to Raymond H. Peters in Pewaukee, WI. The couple was blessed with 7 children, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

June was an avid reader and enjoyed working on puzzles. She was always excited to go on camping trips, fishing, and spending time at the lake. She found great joy in gardening and tending to her yard when she was able. June enjoyed dining out, dancing—quite literally until she dropped – and sharing laughter with those around her. Her laughter was quite contagious.

June was known as a wonderful cook and baker. During the Christmas season every year she enjoyed baking cookies and other Christmas goodies for her family and friends. Among her favorite dishes were spaghetti and lobster, and she had a special fondness for Brach’s JuJu’s, lemons, pickles, caramel apples, coffee and home-grown tomatoes.

She adventured on many trips with her family and held especially close to her heart her trips to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Aruba which included her daughter and best friend Robin. One of her bucket list dreams was to take a Caribbean cruise which she fulfilled last October.

June will be remembered for her warmth, her spirit and the joy she brought to her family and friends. She will be missed by her sweet Goldendoodle puppy daughter, Holly, who was the light of her life. Holly provided comfort, enjoyment, strength, and love to June as she battled with medical concerns for the past few years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; daughter Robin Labeots; son-in-law Tim Labeots; brother Butch Stark; brothers-in-law Denny Susnik and Tom Gutenberger; sister-in-law’s Paula Stark and Cindy Stark, nephews Ryan Paetow and Jason Stark; and great niece Layla Susnik.

June is survived by her children: Ray (Kristy) Peters of Holmen, Barry (Jonelle) Peters of Reedsburg, Eric (Melissa) Peters of Reedsburg, Scott Peters of Dumfries, VA, Kevin (Stacy) Peters of Stevens Point, Jon Peters of Reedsburg; daughters-in-law: Chanida Peters of Dumfries, VA and Stacey Peters of Baraboo; grandchildren: Cory (Emily), Kasha (Ryan), Kyle (Brooke), Kirsten (Tiff), Drew (Michelle), Kelsey (Logan), Alexis (Buddy), Sadie, Zachary, Mali, Meilynn, Tyler (Izzy), Kayla, Brianna, Austin, Joe (Katie), and Brandon (Rachel); siblings: Barb Stark, twin sister Judy (Roger) Scheel, Carol “Gert” Susnik, Patricia (Jerry) Osborne, Gary Stark, Bill (Linda) Stark, Anna (Steve) Brown, Mary Stark, Danny Stark, DeeDee Gutenberger, Cindy (Mark) Hansen, Bobby Stark and Sheri Stark; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
